my annual mother's day present is a 'date' with each of my 4 children ***on their own***!! this is the 3rd year. it's the best time to reconnect with each person and have a big day we can savor together.
this was such a fun mommy date with b. we went to santa clara mission, winchester mystery house and a book store. it's so nice and easy to have 1/4 of my kids on an outing. we have fun and don't have to compromise (the source of most battles).
we drove to san jose, chatting on the way, and made an impromptu stop at santa clara mission. b studied missions in 4th grade and we have talked about visiting some in the area, so when we saw the sign and there was no one else to complain, we did it. i have mucho photos of the church and gardens (g-posted on phlower). being the squirrel that he is, b loved watching the trees squirrels run around and spying on the non-human-fearing critters.
i love that b and am are interested in architecture, history and even trying to understand other religions.
